Recent published studies on the amino acid citrulline tell us that:
USDA Article on Citrulline and Heart Healthy Watermelon A heart-healthy diet is one that is balanced; is low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium; is rich in fruits, vegetables and grains (which contain protective nutrients); and contains fish, lean poultry and lean meat. Studies suggest that people who eat at least three servings of fruits and vegetables a day have a substantially lower risk of dying from stroke, heart disease and all other causes than people who eat no more than one serving a day. Scientists speculate that nutrients found in whole foods such as natural watermelon may provide benefits greater than those from supplements may. |
