I’ve made this several times. I was pleasantly surprised how easily the melon baller could punch through the skin and rind of the watermelon to make the fin and eyes. You can punch out a whole eyeball and then place it back in, reddish white part facing outward, and add a blueberry on a toothpick on top, for a cartoony cute look.
Was fun to make…takes a little while to accomplish….I wish there were more pictures to show how the fins were placed from the reverse side
Love this! Super easy to do. Took me about 2 hours to cut up the fruit and carve the watermelon fish. I used watermelon, cantaloupe, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, kiwi and green grapes. Fun idea for a lakeside gathering.
